For the seventh year running Mr Shaw Design has delivered the kit launch campaign for Rotherham Utd. The goal of the campaign is always to create awareness and hype around the release. Budget and time can be precious so we have to maximise both. Each year we come up with a new style concept. This time we photographed the players in positive poses with a stylised colouring. We then used the windmill X element from the badge as a strong visual backdrop.
The outcome was clean and impactful and perfect for expanding onto all the marketing adverts.
The first push was to create animated gif adverts to send out via social media. This was done by teasing out each kit over a 3 week period.
We then follow this up with advertising posters for the website, external shop windows, fixture cards and charts.
We make sure there is a consistent brand theme running throughout the campaign which is harmonious to the kit style but staying true to the heritage of Rotherham Utd.
